Aurélie holds a Bachelor and a Master’s degree in violin performance from the University of Ottawa, where she studied with Professor Yehonatan Berick. She is currently pursuing her PhD in musicology at Laval University. Aurélie participated in masterclasses and music institutes that gave her the opportunity to travel to Canada, France, the United States, Portugal, South Korea and Italy. During her studies in Ottawa, she played in the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra and the University of Ottawa Orchestra. She also played with the National Youth Orchestra of Canada in 2014 and 2016, as well as the Orford Academy Orchestra in 2016. She is currently concertmaster of the Orchestre symphonique de musique de film de Québec and regularly performs in concert with her quartet Canto Sentimento Strings in Ottawa. She won several awards and distinctions including the Dean of the Faculty of Arts’ Merit Scholarship, the Governor General’s Academic Medal, Lieutenant Governor of Quebec Medal and the plaque of the Faculty of Music for the highest standing in the Bachelor of Music program. Aurélie is a recipient of the Joseph-Armand Bombardier Scholarship from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) and the Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS). She presented her research at international conferences, including at the MusCan and the International Association for the Study of Popular Music (IASPM) conventions in 2019.
