Collectif de la Cité, Émilie Taillon-Des

Émilie began playing violin at the age of 6. As a child, she participated several times in the Concours de musique de la Capitale, in which she was a finalist and a gold medalist. She received Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in classical performance (each with honours) from the Faculty of Music at Université Laval, studying with Hibiki Kobayashi, violinist with the Quatuor Arthur-Leblanc. Along with working as a passionate violinist and violin teacher, Émilie is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in music performance under the supervision of Richard Paré, founding member of the Violons du Roy. During her career as a student, she distinguised herself as concertmaster of the Université Laval Faculty of Music’s Baroque music workshop symphony orchestra, also playing with the orchestra as soloist.
