ANDREA LOACH

VIOLIST

Collectif de la Cité, Andrea Loach, alti

Andrea Loach, violist, is a graduate of McGill University, University of Ottawa and HEC Montréal. During her studies, Andrea was able to immerse herself in the musical knowledge, life experiences and expert advice of great violists such as Frédéric Lambert, Douglas McNabney, André Roy, Jethro Marks, Rennie Reghr, Neal Gripp, and many other musicians. An unforgettable event she was lucky to experience was participating in the Busan Maru International Music Festival in South Korea in the summer of 2016, with the Orford Academy Orchestra. The orchestra accompanied internationally renowned soloists such as Québec pianist Charles-Richard Hamelin and Dutch bassoonist Bram van Sambeek. To broaden her area of expertise, she also studied teaching and management. Today, Andrea works in many areas of the arts industry as a manager, teacher and freelance musician. Truly, any opportunity to introduce a variety of musical styles (and above all, at its highest quality) to those navigating the world of event planning is ideal when true musical camaraderie can be achieved, such as with the Collectif de la Cité!
