ELSA BAROZZI

VIOLINIST

Elsa began the violin at the age of three at the Conservatoire de Perpignan. At the age of 9, she joined the class of Alexandre Benderski, in which she stayed until she was 18. She concluded her graduate studies with M. Brunschwig and obtained her Diploma in Musical Studies in 2016. During the following years, she performed several concerts as a soloist accompanied by the String Orchestra of the Conservatoire de Perpignan. From 2013 to 2018, she was a member of the Perpignan Symphony Orchestra and in 2016, she joined an octet, participating in many festivals and perfecting different musical styles (gypsy, tunisian, irish and brazilian music). In 2019, she moved to Montreal to start a Baccalaureate at the Conservatoire de Musique in the class of Anne Robert. She now plays with the Conservatoire de Montréal Symphony Orchestra, which allowed her to play under the baton of several maestros, including Alexandre Bloch, Jean-Michel Malouf, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Yoav Talmi, Jean-Marie Zeitouni, and the maestria Alondra de la Parra. Every year, she participates in musical workshops during which she was able to meet different teachers and soloists, such as Martin Chalifour, Laurent Korcia, Deborah Nemtanu, Sarah Nemtanu, Nemanja Radulovic, Svetlin Roussev and Pablo Schatzman. In 2014, she participated in a contemporary music festival in Ijevsk in Russia, from which she gained a significant experience.

A word from Elsa

For me, being a part of the Collectif de la Cité means ...

working with musicians who are engines of ideas for my many projects, inspirations for my music, generators of pleasure, pure doses of positive energy, people I admire, in short, friends.
