JULIETTE LECLERC
CELLIST
Admitted to the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal in 2011, Juliette studied there with Elizabeth Dolin and Carole Sirois, earning both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees unanimously. During her studies, she had the opportunity to work with numerous conductors, including Jacques Lacombe, Yoav Talmi, Alondra de la Parra, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, and Jean-Marie Zeitouni. Over the years, Juliette further refined her artistry through masterclasses with Gary Hoffman, Marc Coppey, Brian Manker, Natasha Brofsky, Stéphane Tétreault, and Lluís Claret. In the fall of 2023, she began an Artist Diploma at McGill University under the guidance of renowned soloist Matt Haimovitz.
Juliette won First Prize at the Festival et concours de musique de Lanaudière in 2017 and was a national finalist at the Canada Music Competition for several consecutive years. She also had the opportunity to perform as a soloist with I Musici de Montréal in June 2023. An active orchestral musician, she was selected to join the National Youth Orchestra of Canada in the summers of 2018 and 2019, performing in several countries. In May 2023, Juliette participated in the NACO Mentorship Program, which gave her the opportunity to perform with the National Arts Centre Orchestra in Ottawa for two concerts during their regular season. She also performs as an extra musician with several ensembles in and around Montréal.
Beyond orchestral work, Juliette enjoys performing on Montréal’s popular music scene and working in the studio on numerous projects. She has also been teaching cello privately for several years and enjoys sharing her passion with younger students.
