LORRAINE GAUTHIER
CELLIST
Originally from Sherbrooke, Lorraine Gauthier-Giroux began studying the cello at the age of six at a school specializing in the arts. She studied with Monique Joachim and Julie Trudeau before entering the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal, where she worked under the guidance of Denis Brott, and completed both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in the class of Carole Sirois.
She has had the opportunity to further her solo studies with renowned masters Colin Carr, Raphael Wallfisch, Philippe Muller, and Johannes Moser. In the summer of 2019, she was invited to participate in the Domaine Forget Chamber Music Program, where she refined her ensemble playing alongside international chamber musicians.
A curious and versatile musician, Lorraine has taken part in numerous theatrical productions throughout her studies, both at the Conservatoire and on the Montréal stage.
