VIOLINIST
Born in Rivière-du-Loup, Marie-Pier and Marie-Christine met when they were still only amateur musicians. They quickly became an important part of each other’s lives. As friends, colleagues, and roommates, they have since shared many great memories. Marie-Christine's creativity and her ability to express her emotions in her music makes her an exceptional improviser and a highly nuanced and flamboyant violinist on stage. She is a member of the country-folk group Les Chercheurs d'Or, with whom she has performed all over Quebec, as well as in France and Switzerland. Founder of the jazz quintet Les Évadés, she is able to fully express herself as an accomplished composer. Marie-Christine also collaborates with various artists such as Tire le Coyote, Julie Rousseau and 5 For Trio, and is a member of the Quebec Improvised Music Ensemble. She teaches jazz violin at the Campus Notre-Dame-de-Foy and at the Anne-Hélène Chevrette Violin School.
