MARIE VIVIES
VIOLINIST
Marie began her musical training at the age of six with piano studies and decided a few years later to take up the viola. She then entered the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Toulouse, studying with Valérie Bime-Apparailly. After earning her Diplôme d’Études Musicales in the class of Françoise Gneri at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris, she was admitted to the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon (CNSMD de Lyon), where she continued her studies with the same professor.
Driven by a desire to travel, Marie later moved to Canada and enrolled at the Université de Montréal, where she obtained her Master’s degree in 2021 in the studio of Jutta Puchhamer-Sédillot, followed by a DEPA in 2022 in the studio of Juan-Miguel Hernandez.
Throughout her musical journey, Marie has had the opportunity to work with renowned teachers and musicians such as Raphaël Oleg, the Talich Quartet, Michel Michalakakos, Charles Pilon, Tatjana Masurenko, Maxim Rysanov, Juliette Gil, Victor Fournelle-Blain, Michael Van der Sloot, and Laurent Verney. Her passion for orchestral and ensemble music has led her to perform with the Orchestre Français des Jeunes, the Romanian Youth Orchestra, Orchestre Pronto Musica, the Orchestre National de Lyon, the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse, as well as the Candlelight Concerts series.
Marie performs on a modern viola crafted especially for her in 2013 by Fabien Peyruc, and uses a bow by François Malo.
