MARILOU LEPAGE
VIOLIST
Born and raised in Quebec City, Marilou started the violin at 8 years old then studied with Julie Cossette in Quebec City Music Conservatory. At 19, she moved to Montreal to start her undergrad at UQAM, where she graduated in viola performance in Frédéric Lambert’s class. Now studying at McGill in André Roy’s studio, Marilou finished a Graduate Diploma in performance in 2019 and is now completing a master in performance.
Aside from school, Marilou has the chance to be active musically, playing with different ensembles in Montreal, such as l’Orchestre de l’Agora, l’Orchestre des Jeunes de Montréal, l’Orchestre Philharmonique et Chœur des Mélomanes and l’Ensemble Obiora. Also active in the pop scene, she had the opportunity to play with artists like Simon Leoza, dears criminals, Charlotte Cardin, Safia Nolin, Pomme, Clay and Friends, Damien Robitaille, Les Sœurs Boulay, Valence and Fuudge. Marilou loves to use the music as a way to connect with people and being a part of Les Porteurs de musique is a great way to do so. She is also a viola teacher at Joseph-François-Perrault High School since 2020.
