MÉLANIE CHARLEBOIS
VIOLINIST
Born in Quebec, Mélanie Charlebois began studying the violin at the age of five. She studied first at the Conservatoire de musique de Québec with Jean Angers, and continued her studies at the Faculty of Music of Laval University, where she obtained, in December 2002, a Master's degree in violin performance. In 1999 and 2002, she was a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Canada with whom she toured in Japan. In 2003-2004, Mélanie studied orchestral repertoire with Darren Lowe at the Conservatoire de musique de Québec. Between 2003 to 2016, she played regularly with the Orchestre symphonique de Québec and in 2017, she won a full-time position. She has been the coordinator of the musician's staff at the Orchestre symphonique de Québec since 2011 and plays with various chamber music ensembles, including the Piacella Trio.
