TAYLOR MITZ
VIOLINIST
Originally from Melbourne, Florida, Taylor Mitz studied violin at Florida State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Music with Honors in Violin Performance in 2014 under the guidance of Eliot Chapo. He went on to complete a Master’s degree in Violin Performance at the Schulich School of Music of McGill University, studying with Axel Strauss.
Taylor is Associate Concertmaster of the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean Symphony Orchestra and has been first violinist of the Andara Quartet since October 2024.
He performs frequently with the Orchestre Métropolitain, Orchestre de l’Agora, I Musici de Montréal, and numerous orchestras across Québec. During the summer months, Taylor shares his passion for music by teaching at several Canadian summer festivals, including Music at Port Milford and Camp musical Père Lindsay.
