WILLIAM SIROIS
VIOLINIST
Born in Rouen, William began studying the violin at the age of five. He won first place twice in the Vatelot-Rampal competition in Paris, at the age of ten and twelve, while pursuing his studies at the Conservatoire de Rouen. At the age of fifteen, he obtained his Diploma in Musical Studies (DMS). The same year, he entered the Conservatoire de Boulogne-Billancourt in Paris, in the class of Christophe Poiget. After three years studying in Paris, he obtained a DMS, violin specialty, as well as a Technical Baccalaureate in Music and Dance. To perfect his technique, he moved to Montreal where he was admitted to the Conservatoire de Musique, in the class of Johanne Arel. After obtaining a Diploma of Specialized Studies in 2017 and a Diploma of Specialized Superior Studies with distinction in 2019, he completed his graduate studies in 2020 with a Professional Diploma in orchestral studies with Anne Robert. During his years in Montreal, William got the chance to accompany Robert Charlebois in an orchestra and to play with several conductors, such as Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Vasily Petrenko and Yoav Talmi. He also participated in specialized workshops, during which he studied with several violinists, including Raymond Dessaints, Marcelle Mallette, Paul Zafer and David Stewart.
